Event Overview

Well-known for showcasing high-quality art, Palo Alto’s Festival of the Arts celebrates its 41st anniversary on August 24 & 25, 2024. Over 65,000 patrons who appreciate the festival’s excellence visit this open-air gallery each year. Art lovers stroll along tree-lined University Avenue, browsing fine arts and fine crafts booths, interacting with the artists and shopping the stunning selections from over 250 talented, creative minds.

Explore this beautiful venue and delight all senses with the festival’s diverse elements including sidewalk piano virtuosos, Italian Street Painting, hands-on kids’ art activities, delicious food selections and alcoholic beverage varieties. The community-friendly event is hosted by the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce with the support of the City of Palo alto and is a major fundraiser for the Chamber as well as several local non-profit organizations.

Parking Information

FREE parking is within a block or two of the festival site, but festival attendees are encouraged to use public transit or ride a bike.

For transit information, call the TravInfo line in your area at 511 & ask for public transportation. Phone access limited to the following counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano and Sonoma.

The Caltrain station is only two blocks from the festival. Relax and take the train.

For GPS users: type in 340 University Ave, Palo Alto, 94301. This will bring you to the center of the festival which takes place on University Avenue between High & Webster Streets.

The CDC website’s “COVID-19 County Check” reports that the community level is currently LOW (as of 8/21/23). The site states “People may choose to mask at any time. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.” Please do what makes you feel safe and enjoy your experience at the event.
